Default PTF Community Managers

I've been pondering an idea in my mind recently, regarding a way to involve members in the management of PTF and to help increase the overall welfare of the site. Hear me out.

In the military there is a style of leadership in which duties and responsibilities are delegated through the chain of command. In the army, an example would be: Battalion Commander, Company Commanders, Company 1SGs, Platoon Leaders, Platoon Sergeants, Squad Leaders, etc.

Here at PureTalkForum we could implement a system such as:
Administrator - Senior Moderators - Moderators - Community Managers

So, what are community managers? Simple! We have a lot of forums here at PTF. Everything ranging from Theology and Philosophy to Science to Digital Media and Music to Random Chit-Chat. At the moment, we're taking a very broad approach with improving PTF. Perhaps it would be simpler if we broke it down... Therefore, a community manager's responsibility would be to improve the section to which they are assigned.

They would work to make sure that content in their section is fitting and appropriate, and report anything that is not to moderators.

They would focus on creating discussion in their section and on making their section popular and active.

They would try and bring members into their section and keep them active there.

There is a lot of potential with a system like this. It allows everyone to be more involved in keeping PTF going. It gives everyone a feeling importance and responsiblity. It allows people to focus on specific sections of PTF and thereby increase the site's overall welfare. This method is not intended to isolate people to one area of the site, obviously. However, at the moment we're all working on whatever we feel like and things are getting ignored or abandoned. I believe a system of Community Managers would be a step in the right direction toward solving this.

Please let me hear your thoughts.

That does sound nice. It's like having moderators, but without having to trust them with power (imagine if Relentless was a moderator? Well, I guess you could reverse anything he deleted or any members he banned, but that's still pretty bad).

Well, we need volunteers to take on a subforum. Maybe I should do one, too. I could take the literature section.

If Ash is interested, he'd be qualified to take Chit-Chat, easily. He's already doing the job of a community manager there, and everywhere he posts his threads.
