One of the worst, to me, and most sad aspects of the war on drugs is the damage it has on the relationships between people. Between cops and people who are involved in illegal activity, between friends and family members.

Its very sad to me.

The war on drugs does seem to be excessive in the way it has been carried out to me, and from what I have seen it is covertly racist. But I'm not so sure that I would want drugs above the level of marijuana and alcohol to be legal though I try to avoid even partaking of those lesser types.

Why is alcohol legal and not marijuana? You could crash your car into a little kid either way. I guess I'm a pretty safe person. I don't take either substance, and I don't drive.

Well, people will get these drugs whether or not they are legal. If they can't, they might just get their kicks from prescription drugs or Advil or whatever does it for them. That doesn't mean that all drugs should be legal. If they were, though, they'd be safer.
