My thoughts on the main issue:

I think that smoking should be banned in public areas where other people will inhale it. I do not think that it should be banned in a privately owned sector. Bars are not in public domain, therefore it is up to the bartender to allow or disallow smoking. They should make it illegal for smoking companies to pump their cigarettes with nicotine and harmful chemicals just to get kids hooked on it.

I'm not as much of a pessimist as you guys about the government, although I do agree that the bureaucracy just stinks, and that people are too ignorant to make good decisions. Amazing how such a wild generation in their youth could end up being so reactionary in their old age. Politicians and leaders need to stop being so ignorant, and while I dislike using this term, they need to get "cool." If a kid is late to school, don't make him wait half the day in an office and then have him stay after school. That defeats the purpose of his coming at all. I only hope that the upcoming generation will get that.

And I don't think that govt. is all about money. If that was true, they wouldn't wage so many wars.
The government has waged wars for many things that INVOLVED money (oil?). The arms manufacturers make millions upon millions of dollars thanks to war so they don't care about war either. Maybe it isn't just "money" they're run by but it's definitely personal gain of all forms.
And our countries is run by the same people that run EVERYTHING.
I'm generalizing, however, because there may be a couple people high up who are trying to do something good but there isn't enough of it.

Do you understand the pains the government and the media (which is the 4th branch of the government) have gone through to discredit things like anarchy, when anarchy is about organization and community, along other things. But there's no money to be made with anarchy.

It's not pessismism to not believe in the government. And I'm tired of people telling me that. The stuff I say and the stuff I do is motivated by love for my people, not money or power and that's what the government is built on.

And your view on guns: Wow. You really think that's why guns are allowed? Why does the army have more sophisticated weaponry than us then if our guns are to defend ourselves from them? We wouldn't put a dent in the army.
I don't buy into what you said at all, I'm just trying to find consistency in your argument.

As soon as I can find the zine... I'm going to post something really discouraging, to put it lightly, for you, if you're willing to read it.

Pardon my language, but who the fuck tells you that you have the right to tell me not to smoke? It's my choice. You have no say in the matter.

People can't tell you that you can't smoke, but they can ask you to not smoke around you. Oh and knox, people have every right to smoke, it's legal, and it does not "pollute" the air anymore than fire, cars, planes, and anything else that produces smoke.

Yea, let me rephrase that. You have the right to tell me to not smoke, hey if you even ask politely I might move. That doesn't mean I have to listen to you though.

Obviously be pissed, but since it is a law I'd have to follow it. It would infringing upon my right to do whatever I please that is legal, but I'd have to follow it.

Where I live, there is NO smoking in restaurants or other indoor public places PERIOD. And people voted for it. I happen to agree with it. I don't want to breathe in smoke filled air.

Yeah for at least 5 years theres been a law where you can't smoke in public restaurants or bars. I thought that was passed ever wheres but I must have been wrong, because some states have only passed them so far.

if your smoke is invading my lung i have the right to kick your ass and put it out... but what would u do if i did that file assault charges... yes you have the right to kill yourself you however don't have the right to invade my body...

also the laws they just passed here in tennesse prevent someone form smoking within 50ft of the front door so this solves your problem anyways however people do this anywyas outside of walmart etc... what do i do... i tell them they are within the 50ft they can either move it or i'll call the cop and have them moved....

i used to be a smoker... but i would never smoke around anyone that didn't want it or showed signs of annoyance... its just respectful... which odviously some smokers don't have...

Actually you have no right to kick my ass. That was a terrible refute.

The point is, as long as I smoke where it is legal, you really can't do anything about it. Just take it as anything else that is legal.

But we are not arguing that. The point is, is it against my rights to be told not to smoke in a public park? Should I only be confined to my own house to smoke?
