I agree with you completely. Legalizing prostitution would help in reducing STD risks and drug use as you said and also help to reduce the social stigma attached to prostitution.
But there's the issue of women and minors being forced into prostitution against their will. Thats something that could find its way into prostitution and its something that needs to be addressed as well..
