First of all, prostituting isn't a word. What you are saying is essentially what happens now. When caught, prostitutes are charged and put in jail. What exactly is the lesson they need to learn? That their bodies are not theirs and how they use them is up to the government? Mind you, I don't think prostitution is generally a good idea but it's their choice. It is definitely not something some senator ( who btw may visit a prostitute) in WA should decide.

Prostitution is legal in Vegas...SURPRISE! Sin City! The Bunny Ranch is much like what Gilli was asking for. All the whores get tested regularly to make sure they're clean...and it's not always sex that they do with the..client? It's more classy then you're average crack whore from the alley.

I also agree with Obby, if you legalize it, regulation is just one more thing the government has control of...but as Gilli suggested, nullify the government, issue becomes nil.

I swore I was going to bed but I couldn't resist adding this. The Companions of the "Firefly" universe are very glamorized versions of what I was suggesting. Yea it's one more thing the government controls but in this case the benefits outweigh the negatives.

You must assume she has AIDS and that she doesn't have AIDS because there's no way of finding out (via sex) without altering the results (like if you gave her AIDS then had her tested). Really though I was holding on to that quote for the last two pages just to make a joke about Schroedinger, and really I like Gilibean's ideas of it being regulated. Or just legalize more places like the Bunny Ranch. Frequent testing and without all the pimp beatings.

Voluntary tests are probably better, in my opinion. That way you can choose who you want to... hire... for the night.

I'd like to make the testing required for a "license" but that would probably just encourage more back alley stuff.
