V, in the movie, represented the part of the people that can never be oppressed, that can never be held down. I call someone like that a patriot as well.
The ending of the movie was perfect, so symbolic. It seriously couldn't have ended any differently. I think V for Vendetta deserves a whole thread dedicated to itself, so I'll do that...

A patriot represents the greater good because he/she fights for it.

And Hatchet, your comment made me laugh because it's so true.

Yeah, I would call V a patriot. However, is a patriot one who helps the government or the one who helps the people? He helped the people realize that the government only holds power if they follow it. Is that patriotism? I would think so, but others may disagree because he did not help the government. It is all in how one interprets the word "country." Is the country the union of the people under a government? Or is the country an expanse of land on which people live?

A great past debate has been talking about who is more patriotic, Americans or Canadians. Not to turn this into that debate, but I have a question.

Does hanging a $4.99 flag on your roof make you a patriot?

A cheap response coming from a sleeze.

Patriotism is being proud of who you are and what you represent.

A positive outlook and a good self esteem.

This what any nation's flag represents.
