Whether they are equivilent is up to the individual but eating animals means that more plants had to die for that 1 meal, thats why i say that its less destructive for the plants (and the animals). I forget the exact figures but animals require far more plants than we do to survive.

I'm fairly sure I did but who knows. Even if they are equivalent or plants are more, plants only is still least harmful.

I'm not too sure but I think that going down the food chain, it would end up being more destructive to the plants by eating carnivores only and definitely more to the animals. It would depend on the animal though.

gotcha.... so the whole point of being less destructive is finding a food source thats has no food chain it is what it is...

wouldn't a fruit only diet be the least destructive of all?

That would be the ideal. People can't survive on algae though. Not the greatest example but I have a headache so humor me. I eat only plants because it's the least harmful to the environment and all living beings. (Also, i just don't like meat, never have.)
Yes a fruit diet would be the least harmful since it's the only diet for humans that doesn't require killing anything.

I have a solution for sport hunters. They all go to an island where they are hunted and get to know what it feels like. If they make it out and still want to hunt, they get to be the ones hunting the new people.

i'd agree with that and that idea has been tossed around in a lot of books and movies for that matter... do you truly just not like the taste of meat, or is the thought of how it got to the point it is that bothers you? i'm truly just trying to understand the vegan mindset... and i know yours will differ from others. only reason i ask that is because there are certian things i wont eat... i wont even try... and for me its the looks of it at its current state that bothers me take asparagus for example looks like alienated fingers to me, i refuse to eat it, i don't know if it taste good or not, just does not appeal to me. other reasons i wont eat something is its texture, take sushi for example my wife loves it, when i tried it once, the texture of the different things within the roll bothered me, the taste was rather bland, but the texture is what made me so close minded and i refuse to try any sushi.

I never liked meat and have always avoided it as much as possible. I'm very particular about textures and bitter/sour things, can't stand to eat a lot of things. Honestly there isn't one vegan mindset. Vegan's argue amongst themselves more than they argue with meat eaters.

"The Most Dangerous Game" is probably where my island idea came from, I read it a long time ago. I'd be convinced it was an H.H. Munro story for some reason though.

i'm pretty sure your right, and it was later made into a movie, actually several movies were based off this book.
