I'm also wondering about something. Why do some companies advertise themselves by trying to make themselves out to look bad? For instance, Geico with the caveman. And sometimes they advertise not by trying to make their products look good, but just to state: I am here, maybe you want to buy something such as Burger King does with those Simpsons commercials. I like the Simspons, but I don't know of anyone else who has sold out as much as Matt Groening has.

Not sure if Geico is making themselves look bad with the whole Caveman thing. The caveman was apparently a pretty big hit to the public, so they decided to play with it. Considering you still see those commercials, one could only assume they are still working effectively.

I was just thinking the other day about how several companies, I've noticed, now have two (or more) separate advertising themes now. Like Comcast. They have the whole "Save more Moolah", "More Bang for your Buck", "Do things faster" commercials. They also have the Slowsky Turtles. Geico has the whole Gecko commercials and completely different Caveman commercials. They are so successful that they can play with two different themes.

I don't mean that the commercials aren't working. Hell, they made a TV show about the cavemen. It is working, but only because it entertains the public, rather than informing them about how great their insurance is, which they do with the Gecko (while simultaneously entertaining the public).
The Slowsky Turtles make Comcast seem like a very fast service over DSL, and the other ones talk about how cheap it is. It makes a lot of sense, though, I suppose.

Personally, I think the TV show about the Cavemen is probably going to be stupid.

I'm sure it will be. They made a successful series of commercials, so they think people will just adore a TV show about them. I predict that it won't last long, not more than one season, at any rate. There's a chance they can pull it off and it will be a good show, but I doubt it.

i seriously couldn't believe they would take a commercial so far. It's quite disgusting. I wonder how many people will call it a failure and watch it anyway, though.

When I first saw the commercial for that new upcoming show, I seriously thought it was a joke.
