Should we make, like, a three-line limit on posts? Some members' post counts are impressive, but the number of posts they've made is pretty well in direct proportion to the number of lines of text they've typed. This is completely off-topic, I'm just kinda sick of coming here and seeing 115 new posts that don't really say anything. That's my rant.

dogmas a good movie.....good point to made by Jay there............and for the 3 line post limit....if i wanted to write a book on the subject i would...but since i just want to get my point across the minimum 1 line is fine for me...

well i just wonder too why there are so many post here that contains only few words like 3 word post. how could any one express his opinions with three words. i just find it ridiculous that there are so many members here who are not trying to take posting or discussion seriously here.

People fuck up. It's a fact of life. Another aspect of this is that some people are too weak to mentally deal with their fuck-up for the rest of their lives. It's all well and good to say "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time", and I've said that multiple times before, but I think it's important here to note the psychology of the person(s) deciding to have an abortion. When you don't understand stuff like that, you have people like AJ who condemn them to Hell.

I agree with you as I was gone three days and come back to a deathmatch between AJ and the newbie and at least 7 or 8 new pages here in this thread. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me. The mount of posts that were made, not the deathmatch. That was fun.

Anyway, you all know I like to debate. Let's see, what's been covered since the last time I saw this thread...

Religion as slavery? Not really. I might have agreed back in the day, but I really don't think so. Also, as Catholicism condoning slavery and crap, well, I think that's true enough but also irrelevant. It doesn't condone abortion.

Also, about pro-life people being jackasses. I guess some are, but don't stereotype all pro-lifers as picket sign holding, dead baby toting, hardcore Christians who think that everyone who aborts is evil and going to hell. That can be your personal thoughts and everything, but here is my own atheistically-oriented response to what I just spent 20 minutes reading.

Imagine if your parents just aborted you. You wouldn't exist, would you? The good times and the bad times. Are you happy that you exist? Do you think that others shouldn't have the opportunity to exist after they came as far as becoming fetuses?

OK that was relatively weak. But only a portion of the thread. And if god really had any intention of making the world a utopia, it would be. Slavery, murder, rape, abortion, genocide, all that just wouldn't happen. But he wants us to have free will. Even if he has a plan for us, we make the decisions and we control our lives. We have to recognize our own thoughts and our own opinions and come to our own conclusions.

There's my conclusion on abortion. That it's wrong and misunderstood by people who think it's right.

I'm going to now go make a thread about eating animals and hunting and face off against Obdurate.

But, no, I don't really support hunting for sport.

indieover, if you paid attention to more than just the last post above you, you'd see that the thread is still for the most part on-topic. Unless you're just running away from the argument, if so then cool but at least admit that's what you're doing.

^ I can respect that. And I know you love to debate, which is why you're one of the better members around this hole. But let's flip that coin. Imagine you're the mother -- you make a mistake, get pregnant, but abortion doesn't exist so you have the child. Every time you look at that child, even though it makes you feel like a terrible person, in the back of your mind that child reminds you of the mistake you made. Now imagine if you will a CONSTANT reminder of potentially the biggest mistake of your life, for the rest of your life you look at that child and have to be reminded of that mistake. Consider the emotional tole, the mental tole, that that takes on you. Now multiply that for the rest of your days. Shouldn't you have the OPTION to not have to put yourself through that? I know I sound like the bad guy, and it's so easy to make pro-choice people out to be the bad guy, and what I just said there IS ADMITTEDLY SELFISH. But I think it's a ridiculous proposition to take that OPTION away from people.

I do think that, I am happy I was not aborted. However the difference between me and most children was my mom had people who would help her out with me.

I also think about my brother and sister and think about that, and I no doubt am glad they're here, but that doesn't change my stance.

And not to sound like a jerk but if I was not alive right now, it would not have mattered on a grand scale of things because life would have went on and I would not be something to miss.
