Well I think that its a relative point Toren. I'm assuming you're referring to when I said alcohol was one of the most destructive intoxicants you can consume. Where as, you're correct, marijuana, or the active ingredient THC, is much less harmful. There are no reported deaths ever from smoking marijuana. The only way I'd ever buy a story like that is if some crazy fuck was stupid enough to EAT his own body weight of the substance...but try that with anything and it'll kill ya.

It is true that marijuana is more potent when ingested and can even cause hallucinations. So eat your brownies kids!

Well as for why it socially accepted, I think it is because teens don't really consider consequences as much, so they feel as though it is cool to drink or do drugs. Go back a generation or two maybe it is groovy, or swinging. Why do adults allow their 17/18 year old kids to drink illegally? Probably because they did it when they were that age at parties and it didn't hurt them. I'm sure no good parent would let their 12-16 year old kid drink. Now, though, there are all of those televised public service things to say drugs/drinking/smoking are bad. Schools have people come in to tell you why not to do drugs or drink, etc. The DARE program teaches young children to say no over and over again and run away. Basically the authorities are trying to prevent the media influences. I don't know. There you go.

i agree, anyone seen this commercial were it shows the drug dealer out side a convenience store and he says, man business is slow... don't come to me anymore i didn't sell it to your kid, look in the medicine cabinet etc etc etc... this is a crock. doctors do no prescribe enough of anything harmful to last longer than a month if a parents is taking these medications would they not notice they were missing? i just think that commercial is stupid.
