I used to be a Nintendo fanboy/girl (both at the same time!) a buncha years ago and defended Nintendo to the death with the GC.
The wii most certainly IS the most innovative console so props to them for that. At least Nintendo tries something new each time.

But I'm really not a fanboy for any of 'em. I wanna own all 3 and I own a 360 (though it's broken) and a wii and want to get a PS3. At this point I can't choose one, because they'll each get a few exclusive titles I wanna play.

I will say this though... I know that the price was part of the charm of the Wii but I would have gladly paid an extra 100 or so for a stronger system. I realize the wii is about the gameplay but if they would have spent a little more money on it than it could have done even more, because right now it could never get a game like Metal Gear or whatever.
However, it does games like Brawl and Metroid and No More Heroes...

I'm assuming the wii is outselling the other systems which is fine but since the N64 I've been scared for Nintendo.

i disagree its been proven time and time agian that the wii has alot better hardware and graphics cards than the games show... according to nintendo no third party gaming company has actually touched the power the wii can actually do. here is the thing nintendo is notorious for doing cartoon games yanno nothing realistic looking... if one third party company would actually tap into the power of the wii i think u'd see alot more support for it... imagine a MMORPG played through the wii with maybe voicechat instead of typing... imagine going into batter as a warrior using the wiimote as your sword nunchuck as your shield or maybe a mage and use the wiimote as your want imagine the possibilities of spells you could do... depending on power words you said or how you moved the wiimote to come off with a spell. i just really think someone needs to tap into the possibilities wiht this console. a lil more third party game support and wii would dominate and desimate all.

they all have their nitch...

wii for the fun family games
360 for the online play
ps3 for the graphics

Ooooohhh I have them all and like them a lot.

It is pretty much a tie between the PS3 and 360 for me, if I HAD to absolutely choose one I would pick the PS3.

I don't have any of the newest set of consoles, but my favorites are the old Nintendo ones (I have a working SNES) and the newer Sony/Playstation ones.

You can say that Nintendo is the best because it was the first after Atari so everyone else is just ripping them off, but I still think it's odd that most Nintendo games for the more modern consoles (Gamecube, N64) just sort of capitalize on ideas they've already had. Mario Kart, Mario Party, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong with drums (in case there were some without drums beforehand), Paper Mario, 3D Mario, etc. Sure, they have some cool games, but most are just repeats of old ones with new features, really. It's nice to bring back the really old ones like Super Mario Brothers and the old Zeldas and all that on the newer systems, but making more and more games about the same thing loses its appeal to me after a while. The Wii is the most innovative system out there, I'll admit, but it is, as Knoxbox says, good family fun. There's a lot of cool sports games on it, too, but I don't really like sports games that much. I have tried the boxing one, and that was alright, but I can't see any such fixation with it as I had then lasting more than a week. I also think that the Wii has a while to go before its games can compete with its competitors, even if its gameplay can.

As for the Playstation and XBox (because they really are similar), I like their game range and graphics. You get cool games like the GTA franchise with those: games that have decent graphics (I don't really have a need for top class graphics as long as I can see stuff and there's very little aliasing (that thing that makes slanted lines and circles look like the bunch of little squares they actually are but you can't see in straight lines) and games that have a deep enough premise to keep me interested. That doesn't mean that Nintendo just has a bunch of bland crap, and, indeed, Sony has a lot of bland crap, but there's plenty of good games out there for it.

Once somebody argued furiously with me because I said that basically, the PS controller, while awesome and improved, just took the idea from nintendo systems and added a few buttons. I couldn't believe it. It got to the point that I ended up posting pictures to compare them.

It wasn't me making a point of how systems ripped off other systems or that they have core similarities. It was me making a simple statement that instead of getting their own controller (which has many possibilities), they just ripped off a Nintendo one.

Case in point: Nintendo reinvents their controller every system now.
