Kerry did have the support of the people. he had more votes then bush did, but thanks to our lovely electoral college that awards candidates votes based on state population instead of actual votes, bush walked away with the election. o, that and he stole ohio and fucked with florida's votes.

the constitution does NOT say you SHOULD carry a weapon, it guarantee's you the right to bare an arm and raise a militia in times of unrest, or when you're rights are being infringed upon. which is not wrong.

"Liberal Hippy Douche" i love that thinking. thats exactly how they want people to perceive this. look at what an asshole this guy is? look how reckless and bull headed these god damn liberals are! vote conservative! give up you're liberties! become a police state! we're in danger! danger danger!! you must trust us to protect you! no, i don't trust that kind of propaganda.

you say go with the flow, let them take him away. why? if that was me, i sure as hell wouldn't have gone peacefully, i would've been alot more violent probably, but i would hope my peers would've helped me incite a REAL riot against the police. i wouldn't simply allow them to take me anywhere because you don't know where you'll end up. he could've been sent to Guantanamo. yea thats a prison for war criminals and "terrorists" but if the President so chooses, he can send anyone one of us there right now, on PROBABLE CAUSE. he can make that shit up! they could've taken him away never to be seen again. maybe you'd see a news story about him, a short 2 paragraph summary on yahoo news, and then you'd never hear his name again. does that mean they killed him? does that mean he's living free and well? i dont know, but i sure as hell would rather FIGHT the establishment that is becoming increasingly authoritarian instead of becoming a pacifist and letting the establishment roll me over.

call me old fashion for wanting my Constitutionally given freedoms.

P.s. - as for the impeachment process, i don't believe there is a statue of time. its more of a political tool now a days anyway, just look at Clinton. i do fully support an impeachment of President Bush but Speaker of the House, Nancy Pollosky or w/e the fuck her name is, already stated that option is off the table because even though the Democrats have control of the Congress, WHICH IS SUPPOSE TO BE THE STRONGEST BRANCH OF GOVERNMENT, they have no spine and have let the Bush Administration do whatever they please.

Your rights are protected by the Constitution so long as you are within the realm of maintaining some semblance of order in your arena. Where was his order? That guy just wanted his mic time and wouldn't give up his line of questioning once he'd had it. Did you happen to notice that he didn't give Kerry a chance to ANSWER his question? He was not asking his question in a calm and genuinely inquisitive manner, waiting for an answer, he was making a statement. He wasn't saying "Why didn't you try to impeach Bush?", he was saying "You SHOULD have impeached Bush!". It was a question period, not a "What would you do if you were John Kerry" period.

That guy WAS wreckless. He WAS bull-headed. I don't see where that can be misinterpreted. You say you would have been more violent, you would have been more insistant. Then you would have gotten it worse than he did. You have to pick your spots, pick your battles, and he didn't. As soon as he started yelling and jumping up and down, by definition he was resisting arrest. And the proper officials took the correct course of action based on that. They did their jobs. Whether he should have been arrested or not is an entirely different story, but once it was at that point, he should have been "educated" enough to realize the situation and adapt to it.

Why bad-mouth a pacifist? Since when is being a pacifist a bad thing? You don't need to be a gunslinger to elicit change. If you actually thought that they would have sent this KID to Guantanemo, you watch too many movies and read too many whackjob conspiracy theory websites.

i didn't say they would send him to Gauntanemo, but they have the authority to do it without a trial, that was the point i was making.

did you happen to notice how he explained why he was taking so long? he was giving background information on his questions and like he said, Kerry had been speaking for hours, he can take 5 minutes and ask a well thought out series of questions, thats what an open forum is. and Kerry had plenty of time to respond while the kid was being tazed, but he more of less just stuttered not really knowing what to do. which i don't really blame him, that must've been a new one.

i would've gotten it worse then he did, but thats fine by me. i would love to start a rebellion and egg on the revolution in some way, even if it means getting the shit kicked outta me/death. i'll pick my battles when the time comes, but if i was that kid, that would've been my battle.

and you say it doesn't matter or not why he was being arrested, but it does. you have every right to petition false detainment. it could be argued, as you are, to do that more peacefully, but i have no faith in the system and so i wouldn't like to allow my fate to be decided by their hands.

Hatchet pretty much has this, I just want to say. Good for that guy for resisting arrest. Learn from him.

Nowhere did I say "It doesn't matter why he was being arrested". I said it was a different story. The fact of it was, he WAS being arrested, and once you're in that situation, why would you want to make it worse? What would he have gotten for this? Nothing. A slap on the wrist. Instead, he turned it into a situation of resisting arrest.

Main point is that the cops did their job, and what happened to that kid could have been avoided if he'd kept his head.

My main point is that letting the cops abuse powers like this sets precedents for how they will handle situations in the future

Yeah, fuck freedom of speech. Fuck dignity. Fuck human rights. Police and law are moral codes.
Justin, when you're doing your job, do they send you home without pay?

the pay doesn't matter. at the end of the day, we're the ones who are their real employers, they're hear to protect and serve us not to play enforcers for the ruling elite, who are also supposed to work for us
