How do you feel about police carrying tasers? they're suppose to be an alternative way for police to peacefully take control of a situation without severely injuring anyone. we all saw the Andrew Meyer thing, but here's another video of a student from UCLA who was tased about 4 times while being escorted out of the school library all because he didn't have his "BruinCard". If you read the story attached to the video it says he was asked to leave and refused so the UCPD came to handle the situation. The video doesn't show what leads up to him being put in custody, although he did mention the US Patroit Act so he was probably "inciting a roit", but he is agreeing to leave as he is handcuffed and tased repeatedly. They continue to tase him when he won't stand up after being tased 3 times, so they tase him while he's laying on the ground. How the hell do they expect him to stand up when his muscles are completely fucked from the electric shock?
I bring all this up now because
The Taser is going wireless!
So, with the looming prospect of a national ID card, police arguably abusing power and now carrying wireless tasers with longer firing range, how do you feel about tasers?
