JS Online: A new hazard: texting while walking

i remember when texting first came out, it was amazing no one really knew about it, and it made quick chit chats with your friend that did know about it easier, you could work and talk to people without your boss or other associates thinking you were talking to anyone cause no one knew about it...

then wham, hell even my parents know how to text now, and my grand father is learning, your boss and associates all know what it is, so even stricter one the job phone policies are in the works or in play...

now its just plain annoying, you can't look in any direction without seeing someone texting on their phone.

so how do you feel about this...

apparently text while driving is comparable to drinking and driving or driving under the influence of drugs. laws are in the works and in some place already in play.

Amen brother. Look, I don't mind people texting here and there. That's their business. But it is a pet peeve when they're doing it all the time when you're HANGING OUT WITH THEM. You can text sometime when you don't already have a friend with you! If it's a message or two to make a quick plan or it's really important, that's fine, but I can't stand when people just talk to someone else when I'm there.

And texting while you're driving is fucking stupid. Use common sense people.

Well I know how you guys feel, I myself hate people who is texting while in the middle of a party or a chat. It makes me feel uncomfortable and really annoying. It become a habit of some of us and abuse the technology of texting. I really hate it when my phone rings and I read only in my message is a bunch of quotes.

Talking on the phone while driving at least lets you see the road, but texting you have to take your eyes off of it to send a message that could probably wait. I also hate chain texts.

Yeah, chain texts aggravate me too.

I've already been in a situation where there are three of us hanging out, and nobody is saying anything - but everyone is texting each other. It makes no sense at all.

As Obdurate said, and I agree, it's annoying for someone to be texting other people while they're already with someone.

Driving while texting? Come on! That's worse than making a call.

I can agree with everyone else about texting while driving. My mom does it sometimes and it pisses me off.

And about people texting in the same room as you: try having your cheating ex girlfriend texting you while you're at the same party in the same room with like 3 other people there, begging for a second chance. Now THAT'S annoying.
