what the title says...

well i think that anti depressants drug are effective. there is no truth to it that it is not effect or will not help. there are lots of people who have been depressed who are able to cope up with life because of these drugs. well though i believe that there are also some side effects for long term use.

did you read the article? they just put it to a scientific test and they drugs showed little to no effectiveness over a SUGAR pill. the drugs don't help. we have a major problem in this country with overdosing people on useless drugs. don't you find it odd that a lot of the people that go crazy and shoot up schools and malls are all on anti-depressants? seems to really be helping them. don't go off your meds of you'll become a psychotic mad man! just because those drugs are legal don't make them good for you.

What you don't get is that they shoot places up because they were already fucked up to begin with. The wrong medication can make things worse. Antidepressants are becoming the fix for everything these days. I'd have to say that they are over prescribed, and prescribed to people who don't need them. Of course a sugar pill is going to work for some kid who thinks the world is over because his girlfriend of 3 weeks dumped him. Some people really are depressed, and antidepressants may be one of the only ways to help.

My friend is on them, and days that he doesn't take them he is no different than when he does take them, that should tell ya something.

That's because antidepressants aren't just pills that make everything okay. They're chemical supplements that take weeks to be fully absorbed by the body, and just one day of taking them or not wont have much of an effect

No he has been taking them for sometime , and they don't seem to do anything.

There are a number of different chemical imbalances that can cause clinical depression, and a large amount of different medications, so it's possible he needs to try a different medication.
