Well in support of giving people pills that do nothing: the mind controls the body, even if we can't beat the laws of nature. You can think yourself into having physical symptoms and you then think yourself back to health. Of course, I don't think that can really work on real cases, but if the doctor thinks it's psychological...

did you know you can control the chemicals released into your own brain lunch? those "imbalances" came from a person wishing themselves that way. They had a bad outlook on their self, made up insecurities to hide behind, and then got diagnosed by a system eager to drug us all up. This is report is saying the drugs aren't working to help with the "imbalances", so why are you defending them?

That doesn't mean it's easy to control your own chemical balances, but I guess that's better than dugs, if it will work.

I know it's possible, and the medications aren't supposed to make everything better. They just help.

maybe we should stop taking a look at the people we feel have the problem such as people that shoot up school and look at the people they are aiming at and find out the truth. kids are cruel, lets just face it... highschool was hell for the people being picked on and heaven for the bullies, now the bullies get theirs and suddenly the kid that shot them has a problem? riiight, i think we are putting so little focus on the problem at hand. its not trying to stop school shootings its stopping those that cause school shootings.

and, i'm sure u'd need to be on anti depressants to stop from killing any one of us if we continually picked on you day after day after day....

no.... you say. you wouldn't eventually snap?
then what makes a good dog bite? its in our core basic instints to defend. you back a good dog into a corner and he'll bite everytime.

i dissagree on this as well, you think i wanted to feel the way i felt when my unborn child died? or when my grandmother died, or when i was unjustly declinded for a promotion at my job? you think i wanted to feel the way i felt, dread so bad over me i slept for days on end didn't want to work or eat or sleep? i would have given anything not to feel the way i felt, the only thing that helped were the anti-depressants. No matter how i looked at it, i never felt good, was ill, throwing up, upset stomach, dizzy. my brain was overwelmed and it wasn't cause i was like oh hey i wanna be this way... right... i didn't ask to feel the way i felt, i just felt it. and no matter how much i tried to fight it with good thoughts it was still there... so don't tell me that i put it on myself... cause that was the last thing on my mind.

Someone here said they are a waste of money. I agree. Recent studies have shown that they do not work alrogeather. Unless I have imagined this. If I have then maybe I need some.

only reason they are a waste of money is cause they are so expensive... as for being a total waste... i disagree.

It is a mental condition. You don't just imagine yourself into depression: your emotions make you that way. You can use drugs or you can get some kind of therapy and start feeling better. A combination of both is probably most effective.
