Seriously, it probably couldn't comprehend what to do with all of that processor.

Why do people buy Pentium Extremes? Just take a P4 and buy a good cooling system. Probably cheaper.

Pentium extremes have more CPU cache

more cache = more efficient

Overclocking's easy for both.

But you can overclock Intels so much higher than AMDs. I have my 2.66 running at 3.5ish with a $20 cooler.

I can o/c my P4 3Ghz to 3.2Ghz without raising the voltage...entirely stable too...cept at 3200mhz I lose my sound card, at 3198 it stays...so I run at 3198 when I wanna o/c cus 2mhz doesnt make much of a diff.

The biggest advantage in AMD processors is that it is cheap, much cheaper when compared to Intel processors of same speed. I got myself 2.6 dual core AMD processor but if I had to go for Intel, I would not get more than 2.2 or 2.4.
I have always had AMD for my desktop computers for the last 10 years, even though Intel is more popular. My first pc lasted 8 years. My second pc lasted 2 years, and now my present, well i just changed pc.

how long do you use your computer in a day. can you use that with out turning that off for 24 hours. cause my computer i do that. i usually have only 2 hours rest some times on my computer everyday. cause mostly when i sleep i forget to turn off my computer. and when i wake up i will just turn it off for two hours before i get to work on my computer again. and most on the day it is turned though i am doing some thing else. can you do that too with amd. is that safe with amd to do that.
