The people themselves aren't annoying in the slightest. Somehow the definition got skewed, ,most people haven't a clue what it really means. Even the ones using the label! I'm not sure what the dictionary says but since it got the definition of atheism slightly wrong, i wouldn't be surprised to see it happened to agnostic too. It does, after all, just go off popular definitions

Joseph Stalin was strongly opposed to abortion. The Religious Right is strongly opposed to abortion.

What does this have to do with the separation of church and state?

Birds of a feather, dude.

The Communist in the USSR believed that civil government should have authority over religion. The Religious Right believes the same.

It's a good thing we're under the constitution and not in the USSR.

Good for them. We are in the us. Our government recognizes and is annoying promoting it at the moment. Recognition is important however promotion of a single religion over others violates the idea of separation between church and state.

The Constitution of Iran officially recognizes Christianity. The Religious Right of the U. S. should move to that country.

The U. S. Constitution prohibits any legislation that recognizes religion.

They can stay here and believe whatever makes them happy, just as long as they keep it in their churches (extremely general term) and away from all secular and especially government functions.
