I've listened to some of Ron Paul's answers under questioning and some of the things he's had to say during the past month or so. I think he's an interesting character, but not a legitimate presidential threat. The U.S. is still too conservative politically to ever elect him, or even put him on the ballot.
As far as the Republican side, you probably have to look at a John McCain or even Rudi Giuliani. Although Sam Brownback bears a striking resemblance to Ronald Reagan, so he might have that going for him. Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney have outside shots considering they don't have any other job, with the rest (Paul, Hunter, and Tancredo) bringing up the rear. I don't include Fred Thompson because he's a fucking actor.
