Default Rev. Jeremiah Wright

What do you think of this guy? Do you think this criticism against him deservedly falls against Obama at the same time? Does Obama's previous affiliation with this man make you not want to vote for him? (Based on that alone, no other reasons)

Personally...I think he's hilarious. I'd attend his sermons. I don't necessarily disagree with what he says either. So, it doesn't change my mind on Obama at all...but there wasn't much to be changed anyway.

edit: Apologies. I've mispelt his name. It's Jeremiah*

I've taken to ignoring the whole debacle. The only thing that has affected who i'm voting for is Obama's stance on sport hunting.

Wholeheartedly supports it. He had my vote up until that moment. I'm not switching to Hilary because i stll maintain the woman is the epitomy of evil and John McCain is things I'm much too polite to actually say.

lol While I've never been hunting, I would like to go. I just like guns really...but, anything I'd kill, I would be sure to eat. I at least owe the animal that. We're hunters by nature...or we we're.

So you're still voting for Obama? I agree with your points on Hillary and McCain, but I don't want to vote for any of them. I'm sick and tired of the "lesser evil" vote. Fuck that. There shouldn't be any evil.

I'd like to add that the media is complaining that Obama attended such a "radical" church....but last time I checked, a lot of the Masons, including the Bush family, had some fucked up religious beliefs as well...just cuz they didn't have the balls to say it out loud, doesn't make it any better.

I was considering it but seeing as my stance on sport hunters is less than nice, I'd feel like a hypocrite. I'll either not vote at all or vote for a less popular more reasonable candidate.

TruthNews.us Blog Archive The Rev. Wright

Pretty good article that sums up my opinions on this matter.

Obama is doing his very best to distance himself from Wright because it's politically expedient to do so right now.
Hard to understand the depth of his personal relationship with Wright??
LOL Hardly. The guy was his spiritual mentor and counselor for years and officiated at his wedding.
And Obama never knew Wright's stance on any of these hate issues he spit out all over the American people??
Give me a break.

The trust issue has never been more important than it is in this upcoming election and that's sad...because there's not a single candidate that can be even slightly trusted.

When's the last time you looked at a candidate running for President and thought "there's a guy I can trust!" I agree he's saying what he's saying now just to try to curb the bleeding caused by this controversy but I don't think he really needs to.

Is Wright not an American? Does he not have the freedom to express himself? The things he says aren't things that have never been said before. The media's just purposely blowing this whole thing out of proportion. Why don't we get a glimpse into McCain's crazy religious beliefs? Why don't we talk about the Clinton's affiliation with the Free Masons? It's just stupid that we let the media influence how we think.

Did you read or hear Wright's remarks?? The remarks are what they are. Just because the media has shown them over and over doesn't excuse their content. The media is not culpable for what the Reverend has said. HE IS.
Being an American and spreading anti-American hate and sentiment within his own church and elsewhere clearly make him anti-American as far as I'm concerned.
I'd like to think Americans would be judged by their actions and not the text listed on their birth certificate.
Of course, we always will have the liberals using the technicality of looking at a birth certificate as a way of justifying hate speech and prejudicial sentiment.
Wright's followers, some of them younger than Obama's 2 children, are inundated with his message of hate and prejudice on a regular basis. That equates to nothing more than the leader of a cult in the spirit of Hitler or Jim Jones.

Sure, he can say whatever he wants to say...But I find it shameful and reprehensible that he would present his hate message to young people and mere children who cannot process his information in a mature and rational manner as an adult would.
Let's review what would happen to a leader, religious or otherwise, of a different color if they were broadcast saying the types of things "Rev." Wright is saying.

As for the trust issue, Americans have had immense faith in their leaders and trusted them in the past.
FDR, JFK, Truman, Eisenhower and Reagan were all leaders who were trusted to make the best decisions for their country and not just their party constituency.
Present day, these leaders are more concerned with their party "taking back the White House" or "keeping the free spending liberals out of office", just to name a couple of soundbytes from both sides.
And whatever happened to Campaign Finance Reform??
The politicians gather momentum by looking at financial spreadsheets so that they can go out and tell the media to report that they are rasing more money than their opponent, as if electability hinges on one thing and one thing only.

Real change? What a joke.
