New Pledge of Allegiance
(TOTALLY AWESOME) !

Since the Pledge of Allegiance
And The Lord's Prayer
Are not allowed in most
Public schools anymore
Because the word "God" is mentioned....
A kid in Arizona wrote the attached

NEW School prayer: -
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

If you aren't ashamed to do this,
Please pass this on.

Jesus said,
"If you are ashamed of me,
I will be ashamed of you before my Father."

Not ashamed. Pass this ON!

all i can say is how true how true.

Anything written in purple comic sans is not worth reading. Shouldn't this be in the joke forum?

Chain emails do get annoying. Anyway, I do kind of see the point in people saying stuff like suppression of religion restricts freedom, but the fact of the matter is that some people will be offended by it, like religious people may be offended if I walked into church and said that there is no god and that when you die nothing of real interest happens, like heaven. I do think that separation of religion and state goes a little far, but you have to stop and consider that praying in school is a way of pushing the majority religion onto people who have a different faith. Banning the pledge, though, for having the word god in it isn't right. That's just what the pledge is. I'd sooner ban the pledge in schools for trying to brainwash kids into having all these thoughts of loyalty to their country.

What he is saying (I think) is you basically ruined your credibility by posting something you didn't write yourself, and not only that but basically spam mail. You didn't even have the decency to change the text or the spammy feel.

It is an interesting STORY but I think you are just posting this to influence us to like John McCaine.

AHHHHHHHHHHH MY EYES!!!!

But seriously, I think the whole god in the pledge of allegiance is blown way out of proportion. As an atheist myself, doesn't bother me.

He's sharing a message that he thinks the rest of the members will find useful or informative or entertaining, and all you can say is "your ruining your reputation because you didn't write it yourself" and "it's spam mail" and "you could at least have the decency to change the text" and "you're trying to influence us to vote for McCain." It's really quite ridiculous how critical and negative you are.
