It's really quite ridiculous how critical and negative you are.
Well I said it was spam mail because, well, technically it IS spam mail. I don't find stuff like this useful. I get the fact that it was meant to be so, but I coulldn't care less if the gov't thinks the word should be band, I have to say it either wway. Sure it is rediculpus, absolutely, but 2 threads about it? C'mon.

I am not negative often, stuff like this annoys me though.

Well, he still has the right to post it. And even as someone who doesn't believe in a god I am not offended by the pledge. And I I had kids that I wanted to raise atheist I wouldn't even tell them to exclude that phrase. That's just what the pledge is. It was written to include the words under god. Now, on the topic of the thread, I don't think schools should censor religion, I just don't think they should teach it or endorse it. I mean, they already have days off for Christmas and Easter, and they don't want to have you work through them or give you Hannaka (Mozilla spell check isn't turning up anything for that, so it's the wrong spelling) off. Why not just leave everything as is? Same with the debate of changing the national anthem because it is about war. How did this country get its independence and keep it, and keep itself whole when the south wanted to split? War. It doesn't do justice to the people who fought and died so we could live in this country to change it, and it doesn't do the people who live here any justice to censor the pledge.

Well, I got to go check up on my virus scanner. Butler...AWAAAAAY!

Yeah, you are right he has a right to post it, but he could have removed the statement against Obama. It is just unproffesional.

For once I want a candidate to say "You should vote for me because of me". Not, "you should vote for me because of them."

I don't like that either, but McCain didn't write that himself. He's not the one going around saying that Obama is a terrorist, its' just a lot of people supporting his campaign, even if he and Hilary are likely to point out his history.

How precisely is that not sexist? It seems to me to fit the definition perfectly

Oh and the "new" pledge is too insulting to bother commenting on

I'd have to agree with you there. It's always nice to find someone who doesn't completely ignore science and logic.
