okay, sure we haven't been invaded, but if we ban guns don't you really think that would be taking a step in the wrong direction... we'd appear weaker... right now i think the reason we don't get invaded is because other countries know that people will take their arms and use them it wouldn't just be a fight agianst are military but a fight agianst the country as a whole. i don't own a gun right now, but if i knew we were being invaded or the start of it somewhere i'd get one... i know alot of people that would. sure there are those people that would run and hide rather than stand and fight, but i think u'd be surprised at the people that would stand and fight if our country was attempted to be taken from us.

sure a lot of us in this forum are not patriotic and anti government, but i think u'd also be surprised at those that would still stand and fight. you think the vietnamese were smart sending kids in with gernades and stuff you havent' seen anything till you see what americans would do to protect our country. I know people that have underground vaults with guns i've never heard of or seen before. like that bert guy from tremors.

Yeah, I think a lot of communities would rise up to defend their homes if a foreign country wanted to take over. I mean, if you don't like the American government (and I'll admit I don't really know anything about the Canadian government) you're probably not going to want to be under a government that can spontaneously declare war and take over.

Why you might ask? Because the victims are defenseless. Ask any hardened criminal what house he would rather break in to, a handgun owners or a gun banning pacifist. Please, even the most gullible of you cannot think otherwise. Wake up, have an original thought.

Banning guns is not a good idea. They need to be massively regulated and taxed to death (with the taxes going to gun safety education) but not banned altogether.

Guns will never be banned in the US and they will never be allowed here in the UK. No matter what the law is. If someone wants a gun. They will get one. They are easy to get hold of.

I actually agreed with Piscator, on the whole. Was that not a valid point? Yes, he/she is like The_the, though (and why the hell go on a forum and name yourself The_the? He's obviously intelligent to some degree, and not only can't he think of a good username but he can't capitalize it correctly? I'm just saying that because it always bothers me). Oh, and wouldn't liberals want people to have the liberty of guns, or do they want them banned and the conservatives want us to have guns but the liberals stereotype them as gun-toting rednecks? I know what you are talking about believe it or not.

I recently watched a program on cannabis. A reporter starts smoking it to see what it does to people etc. In the end they found that in Amsterdam where cannabis is legal to buy from shops. Cannabis not used, and illegal street dealers are a big time low prepared to all countries that don't allow cannabis at all.

It seems like an important point to bring up would be the higher rate of homicides with a gun is much higher in the US than the UK. But the US also has a higher rate of homicides in general so the issue is larger than just access to guns.
