Ah, the soul. I really don't know. Not being the religious type, I don't really think that we all have immortal souls that will be rewarded or damned when our bodies are dead. I do often wonder, though, what makes us who we are? Our brain, certainly, has emotions and thoughts, but what is a thought? What animates not just humans but all animals to think and move at will? Most people will agree that plants don't think. They can't move at will or feel pain or react to pain voluntarily. They just live. I don't think a soul is material. I don't think it is something that only humans have that puts us above everything else so we don't have to feel bad about eating lower animals. I would consider it the thing about us that differentiates us from everyone else. I don't really know, though. If you were to take the dictionary definition of it, I probably would say that I don't believe in a soul.

I think this is something an individual would have to have answer for themselves. Like the above member said. There is no evidence. So it is basically based on what we ourselves believe.

yes I know when I created this topic its a quite complicated one. But I know you cannot prove the the existence of certain things, just like you cannot prove the existance of love by some experiments. you just have to feel it.

I can tell u that much to all of my friends writing so the answer is that yes i have also heard about this issue that souls really exits and have heard alot of issues related to it from my grandmother and grandfather...

The soul exists. It's the power in us humans that makes life possible. Without a soul, humans would cease to exist; but as you said, there are many views about the existance of the soul. The only person that can really tell you if the soul exists or not is you. Research it. Learn both sides of the argument and believe in what you think is right.
