If animals don't have souls, how can they exist?

Does the chair you're sitting in have a soul? No. And yet it exists.

I would like to believe we have souls, that there is some collective energy or embodiment of myself and everything I've experienced that will survive after my body dies, but that could very well be my ego and my own arrogance.

It would be really cool if this experience led to another one, something better, a place where things are more like how I would like them to be here. If I died while doing something I love, or making music, then in my next life I would have the chance to continue what I was working on somehow or me and my family and friends would be together and continue to learn and advance.

There are consequences for our actions, so if someone does something horrible, will they have to pay in a future life? Or maybe just experience something at death that to them, would perceptively seem to last a long time, but maybe only lasted a a few seconds, then its over.

And thats not to mention that some people are pretty much screwed from birth, so how would that be fair if we had a choice? Then you have the issue of past and future lives....its all much more complicated and complex than we would like to think it is, or perhaps its much simpler, but either way, there are alot of factors to consider.

I have had experiences where I felt I was dead and we were all like, oh man, Im so glad thats over and we're all here together, but that could have just been an illusion I created in my mind. It never really happened. It was just my imagination. Or maybe it was the, I dont know, whatever it was, it was really cool, but anyways....

We all have the same spirit energy, the same life force, perhaps this energy collects at conception and disperses at death.

I just meant that if humans need a soul to exist, why do animals exist, for they are also alive. A chair, luckily, does not have a brain, or we'd all have to sit on milk cartons.

Animals are not eternal. Humans are eternal; therefore, we need souls, and animals do not.

I hate that.

The actual question was "Does Soul Exists?" (with some extra and unnecessary question marks!). And nobody, in my opinion has really got into what it really means. Perhaps because the main focus remained on the soul rather than the question (even of the one who posted it). Anyway, what the question presumes is that you have some basic principles of "Proving Existence of Anything" and then you put the soul into that principle and get the output.

But unfortunately, that's not the case. The question is enormously vague, firstly because we as humans by all our intelligence and magnificent genius cannot prove even the existence of a single micro particle, the reason being "frame of reference". Whenever we try to prove that something exist or is there, we use references like "he is in the room" , "the table is on the floor" etc. So, you cannot describe existence without a reference and because the reference again is a "thing" which needs a proof of existence, it becomes an infinite loop of proof and disproof.

Now we come to the part of soul, as you can now see we really have no way to even prove our own existence, we certainly cannot by any logic prove the existence of soul.

For those of you saying right now, "i eat, sleep and have sex with hot chicks and they really feel me up....how the hell you can say i don't exist?"...my friend, i used the word "LOGIC" ..lol..(by the way, sometimes you have to seriously forget logic! in order to really understand something). Anyway, i guess it's a question which is indirectly questioning the existence of God just like the question of "Evolution and Creationism", both directly question the existence of a supreme being and perhaps we don't want to discuss His existence, if not then simply......start a new thread!
