Er...There's already a thread for this, just named God. I don't know, though. If I was the administrator or a moderator, I would leave this and let it go off on its own. After all, it does ask the question "Why?" and it is new and fresh. Who wants to wade through 18 pages of garbage to say something about the original thread where everyone else is off on a tangent.

Therefore, even if both our threads are moved or deleted, I will answer your question. I do not believe in God. Why? I used to as a little kid, but then the idea wasn't reinforced. I didn't go to church or Sunday school or CCD or any of that. I wasn't told regularly that there was a god, and was pretty much left to make my own decisions and conclusions. I didn't do research and really put effort into anything. It just happened the same way that people will start to believe in God after not having it reinforced through early childhood.

Well I do believe in God.

i do not beleve. although i am not closed minded aganst god.

i feel that the god most religions would have us beleve in is a weak god, not a strong one, and that leaves me unconvinced.

Religion is based on faith. If there was any genuine proof it wouldn't be called faith. I can disagree with religion with the justification that there is no proof that a god exists. That's all there is to it.

Homosexuality is different, because it's real and many things about it can be proven, including the fallacies of people's misconceptions about it.

You can't treat them the same just because they're both "views" (the view that god does not exist and the view that gay men don't deserve the same rights as everyone else). I wouldn't ever call you a bigot for believing in god (the definition of bigot wouldn't even apply if I tried).
