For instance, one site said that it must have been a huge coincidence that our planet has just the right conditions for survival of life, to which I say that those favorable conditions are why life is here and not on another planet. The universe is f***ing huge. No denying that. maybe infinite, if that's possible. Once or twice there will be a planet that can support life. Whether or not it does, though, depends on circumstance.
See that is what I don't get. The Bible, World Facts, how are they ture. Most of these would be impossible to tell if they are indeed true or not. For example how the Earth was created.

Way I see it, creationism ought to be kept out of the science class. If we were to teach creationism, which religion's would we teach? Would it be "Earth is 6000 years old and god created the world in a week" Christian hypothesis(I say hypothesis, coz unlike Evolution, creationism doesnt have scientific evidence backing it and relies too heavily on the word of a book who's very credibility is in doubt), the Hindu hypothesis, the Muslim one or the Buddhist one. Unlike evolution, ID is more or less considered bad science by a huge portion of the scientific community(due to its flawed approach to proving things) and relies on "its complex, and anything complex has to have a designer", rather than "its complex, we dont have a solid theory to prove everything, but we are trying to find out the truth". I mean, do we want people to start attributing everything they cannot explain to god or do we want to them to try and find out the truth?

What matters is what people want for themselves. That'd be good, too, if they didn't pass on their beliefs to their children, to the exclusion of all others. That's what people do. If your parents were Muslim, you will be raised Muslim and believe generally what they raise you to believe until maybe you question it later, and I don't think most people do.

I want to try breaking that pattern when I have children. I'm a pagan, but I want to introduce my children to as many religions as possible and let them choose for themselves.

But see choosing...

I think it would increase the number of Buddhists, though, since the foundation is personal happiness. Then we'd have more religious tolerance and otherwise be more tolerant.

But if you believed that your child would suffer in eternal hell if not brought up in one section and branch of monotheism, you wouldn't want them choosing something else or even considering something else.

Word. I'm the same way (but not a pagan) but it's gonna be really difficult because you never know how your child is going to turn out.

Yeah, but I think that the only choice I'd have a problem with is Scientology.

I'd have an issue with biblical fundamentalism or scientology. Anything that totally ignores science or is a fraud.

I'd think that I'd find fundamentalist religion of any type distasteful. But I don't think there is any positive form of Scientology, which is not something I could say for any religion.
