Homeland Security Visited Omaha Mall Before Massacre

by now, i'm sure everyone has heard of the kid who went into a mall in Omaha and shot 8 people and killed himself, "going out in style". this article is claiming that Homeland Security was at that mall before the shooting checking up on the security of the mall. they would like to beef up mall security and have more heavily armed guards. coincidentally they were visiting that mall around the time of the shooting incident.

Quote:
In other words, the Ministry sent a message in spades: malls, not unlike airports, are to become Gestapo zones. Prior to the shooting, the FBI prepared the ground by issuing a spurious warning about al-Qaeda, the documented CIA intelligence asset, striking malls in Los Angeles and Chicago.
Quote:
“It’s not a reflection that there’s some specific imminent threat,” Chertoff continued. “And of course, the story out of Omaha is not a terrorism-related story. It’s similar to the tragedy we saw in Virginia Tech. We do live in an open society and there are people who are mentally disturbed who will sometimes take violent action. Obviously, the malls are almost all owned by private parties, so a lot of the responsibility for security lies with the private companies that own and operate the malls, and of course local government and local police play a major role as well.”

If Chertoff and the Ministry have their way, however, our “open society” will become decidedly less so as cops — and even firemen and paramedics — are trained to recognize those who harbor “discontent” for the state, training “developed by the International Council of Shopping Centers, a trade group, and the Homeland Security Policy Institute at George Washington University at a cost of $2 million. It is the first standardized anti-terrorism curriculum written for the nation’s estimated 20,000 mall security guards,” as the Washington Post reported back in January.

It is all about getting us accustomed to a heavy-handed police state, here to protect us, of course, so along as we do not demonstrate “discontent” or complain about its Gestapo tactics.

A few more mall incidents by deranged teenagers cranked up on pharm drugs – and maybe even a well-placed terrorist event – and the American people will be begging for surprise SWAT raids at the local mall and Ministry trained rentacops hallucinating Osama behind every concourse potted plant.
i really can't say it any better

And what exactly do you think should be done about this?

well it shouldn't be done. homeland security shouldn't be done. we don't need that organization, its just a collection of a bunch of already established organizations (hint hint, everything becoming one) but honestly and realistically i've come to terms that this shit is already well into a snow ball effect and i dont think anything can slow the roll on this, it's just a matter of time. they're easing it in and people are just scared and willing to accept that they're here to "protect" us

I somehow doubt the ICSC has anything to do with the creation of a heavy-handed police state. Call me optimistic.

The desire for tighter mall security is nothing new, but it doesn't surprise me that HS is dipping their spoon in the bowl. But think about where that desire comes from. You've got high school kids (and adults) stealing shit every damn day because everybody bitches that everything is too expensive. Which in a lot of cases, it is, I agree. There are roots and causes to everything and it's not simply enough to say "we need more security". We would be just as well off I think abolishing Homeland Security and pumping all those big government salaries into progressive social programs in education and social welfare. But again, I'm optimistic.

thats exactly how i feel....all the big companies and government businesses that have way way way more than enough finances then needed to live a normal happy life, should probably give at least one million out of their one billion dollars they have to people who need it....

i bet this kid had more wrong in his life than his mental state.....he had to of had a hard life to just snap eventually with no warning...

ok thats besides the point. yes the kid snapped, but they're using it to further they're agenda which is what the thread is really about. its the same kind of fear tactic used after 9/11 to rally the country behind the insane logic of the current administration.
