This is a bizarre tale. A respected psychiatrist fell victim to one of those spam emails about the $60 million someone wants to put in your bank account. They convinced him to commit check fraud, send money to "bribe bank officials" and so on, so when everything unraveled, the prosecutor didn't see this guy as a victim at all.

The New Yorker : fact : content

I'm not sure how I feel about it, I mean, the guy got punished even without going to jail, but on the other hand, he really should have known better. Especially after he found out the first check they sent him was a fake, to go and deposit another (just as obviously fake) check and withdraw the funds ... what was he thinking?

What, you mean strangers don't offer you guys $100 million dollars all the time?

The guy was dumb just to read the whole email, but if he was a psychiatrist ... I feel bad for his patients.

Hahahaha! Yeah, I defiantly would not want to be one of his patients, but that's just me.
