2 Arrested in connection with shooting/pursuit in Bell Gardens

A 21-year-old Bell Gardens man and a male juvenile suspected in the shooting of a California Highway Patrol officer in the city of Industry were arrested Saturday, a CHP officer said.

The officer and his partner tried to stop an allegedly stolen SUV on the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway near Whittier Boulevard about 3:45 a.m., said Deputy Maribel Rizo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The suspect vehicle exited at Peck Road and Pellissier Place and crashed on the ramp, said CHP Officer Rick Quintero.

Two males ran from the wreckage, and during a foot chase, the officers and suspects exchanged gunfire, Rizo said.

One officer was wounded, Quintero said.

After a search of the area, Armando Saucillo and a male juvenile were caught and arrested, according to the CHP.

They were booked at the Industry sheriff's station on suspicion of attempted murder.

The wounded officer was taken to a hospital where he was in stable condition, said Deputy Maribel Rizo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were assisting the CHP with the shooting investigation.

These kind of things happen all the time here... It's really sad.

This stuff needs to stop,anyone that has commited a crime should go to prison for life, or just get exicuted

That's a bit too harsh. Not every crime justifies going to prison for life or just being executed. You get a DUI, it's a crime, or a person steals a pack of gum, that wouldn't warrant going to prison for life or being executed. Now crimes such as committing murder would warrant one of those punishments.
