We don't need any more artificially flavored crap on our grocery store shelves. So from me its a no.
EDIT: If you aren't from America, I'm still sure you see people walking around with SuperSized waistlines. |
Let's also get this straight. The guy that did Super-Size Me ate at McDonalds three times a day, having like four burgers two fries and a large drink EVERY meal. So that documentary to which you appear to make reference (see "SuperSized") is as biased as anything else.
The conception that two-thirds of America is overweight is based on what? People we decided to give the right to to tell us? All this stuff about "healthy body weight" is, in my mind, empty rhetoric, and the effect is that it has made people complacent. You see some 400 pound guy who refuses to do anything about his weight, preferring to blame the snack food industry based on "proven medical statistics", saying that it's their fault for putting "unhealthy food" in such an abundance out to the public, not taking into the slightest account that, if we didn't buy so much of it,
the industry wouldn't survive! The proven medical statistics are put in place by the independents who WANT TO SAY THAT THERE'S AN OBESITY PROBLEM. They're giving you the answer before they even ask the question.
I don't think there is an obesity epidemic in the Americas. And if there is, the last thing we need to do is place blame on the companies that provide the snack foods. We made the beast, all they did was give us the fuel.
