I will blame it on the damn paper! That style of pen has been in use for years! The Constitution was written with those types of dip-and-write pens! The paper could handle it back then.

cus back then paper was nice and thick and expensive so thats why it was of such high quality...not like the slimmed down crap paper today

yes...that paper...If the declaration was written on it it probably wouldnt survive 200 years.

Calligraphy pen...that's what I meant. I got a calligraphy pen. You know, the nibs do seem perfect for stabbing people ad writing in their blood, if you could find one sturdy enough to stab someone, come out cleanly still attached to the handle, and still be in a condition to write.
