What happened today was very embarrassing and downright childish. Are you all 10 years old? Posting the same conversation 2000 times as well as posing porn is completely unacceptable. Although Kovich should be talking care of post of the issues here now, I have decided to step in for a while and clean this up.

Henceforth:

1. Absolutely no more mention of UN. It is the FIRST EVER word to be added to the censored words list. Do not try to go around the censor.
2. Several members have been banned for a 7 day cool-down period. If they choose to return after that time, it is their choice.
3. There is to be no more childish spamming. THIS INCLUDES VIA THE PRIVATE MESSAGE SYSTEM!

Any violation will result in an instant IP ban with no chance of reversal.

You may now resume regular debating.

Basically some members of another smaller site thought it would be OK to come over here and post and private message spam everywhere along with links, and this thread is saying that if there is anymore of it, they will be immediately banned.

Why would they do that? I mean did they think that because they pm'd members here they will ditch this place and join a smaller forum?

Well, the owner of that site is very immature, and he was banned from this place for weird reasons, never mind them...but now he revived an old site of his that now has a small following of people from a number of other sites. One of these members who used to come here, he went around a bunch of threads and spammed us. A few other members who have been loyal PTF goers for a while but a few of whom also post at this new site argued pointlessly across three threads about it. The side of PTF supporters said that this new site is unworthy because it's inexcusable to go around spamming other sites. The other side wasn't against PTF, nor did this side even want to argue the point, but they defended this smaller site as a valid forum to post at. For some reason, it went on and on until AJ logged on or something. Good thing he's still an admin for now.

If you're curious, I admin at that smaller site and I was just trying to stop the arguing since it was just a statement of facts. Both sides were right about just about everything they said.

And that's that. Actually, you, Dan, are a more persuasive advertiser. I'm considering joining that forum in your signature. I like the looks of it.

The important thing in this situation is that it's been handled.

Some damage has been done to both sides, but that isn't entirely surprising.

The only thing we can do now is resume normal operations and work to make PTF a better, more enjoyable place.

Yup, I feel if you check out a site by your own will and like it yourself, not by someone spamming you and telling it's decent, the chances of you joining and being active are much stronger.

My forum is only 2 months old, so I like to join older forums to see how it's like. I just realized an easy to way to solve this issue is to censor their forum's name and have it automatically replace with something else. Like "The Dump"

wow i know i said i wouldn't post but i have to... dan, first you say kids will be kids... then you say your last line about censoring it and making it "the dump" thats very childish and kiddie as well.... so like you said kids will be kids, and i guess that makes you one with the group of so called "kiddies"
