And as for chick to describe a girl, what about dude? That's equally informal, and guys don't mind. If you don't like it, kick a guy in the balls when he calls you one. That's very drastic, though. Never do that, ever. Just punch him in the face. It's never justified unless you're being raped. Even if you are bing murdered, don't do it.

i'd say anything is acceptable when being murdered.. the murderer should have thought out the possibility in his head and wore a cup....

It depends on the attitude behind it but I don't mind chick. If its a guy using it to describe a girl as more of an object to acquire than a person to get to know, then I have a problem with it.

It's not just a few people, first of all. Anything that has a group following it is worth at least understanding. Even if the group is full of it.

And second, how is history clutching at straws? I'm going to say "we" to make it easier here. We were raised to be sexist and our language, the way we speak and conduct ourselves, reflected that.

Times change but don't try to discredit the struggle, especially when you say, "As for history, that's just clutching at straws" and then go on to say, "that men are keeping women down. At one point they did. Back then women were raised to be squeeming, weak, and dependent on men." C'mon, Butt (ha), you can do better than blatantly contradicting yourself like that in the same paragraph.

It also goes deeper than what I said but like I said in my last post, I'm not that concerned with it so I don't sit here and think about it. But I'll throw something else out. Women, according to the bible, were created from man! Can't you see how a girl might take offense to that?

Sexism can take different forms though. The perfect, Hollywood woman? Sexist.

Yeah, and words like dick are also sexist in a sense, but I combat that by calling guys dicks and calling girls bitches. Or just calling both of them jerks.
