Have you heard of Nostradamus' 1999 prophecy? That was based on the fact that he got many predicted things right. But it didn't happen. There are many others, as well. The fact is that we will never know when the end will be until it happens.

Why should we not believe this? Because they have an "alternate date" of December 23rd if it doesn't happen on the 21st. Kinda like saying "I believe I will die today, but if I don't it might be the day after tomorrow". Not exactly solid; I didn't know the Apocalypse had a rain date.

This is another one of these things that people just BELIEVE in based solely on faith and flimsy argumentation.

Yeah you're right. I just looked it up. I didn't know it was from him. I always thought he predicted something happening way later in the future. I guess i didn't pay attention that well when they had it on the History Channel.

Why does everyone assume the absolute worse when they hear a theory like this? Oh, surely we must all be laid to waste on such a prophetic day. No..Like Justin said in his post "a transition from one period to the next". That you cannot argue. It will happen, and I for one cannot wait.

Something will happen...on that day of the solstice, all the planets will align together. The center of the milky way will align with the rising sun. Forces we can't comprehend will be sent into action, and no one knows what the fuck that means. Strap in and enjoy it.

edit: background on this "Time Wave". It's an ancient Chinese prediction forumla called the "I Ching". Mckenna just plotted it against a time line. Also interesting to note, he did this and came up with the 2012 date before he knew anything of the Mayan calender.

Yeah I doubt it is going to happen, if stuff starts to happen then maybe just maybe ill start believing.
