Default PTF: Can you dig it?

Quote:
Digg is a social news website made for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the Internet, by submitting links and stories, and voting and commenting on submitted links and stories.
Submitting threads from PTF to Digg is useful for several reasons:
1. It brings a large amount of traffic here, often resulting in posts.
2. It gets indexed by search engines much faster, resulting in traffic, resulting in posts.
3. It adds to the overall quality and value of PureTalkForum.

The amount of traffic generated by getting an article (thread in our case) on the first page of Digg is usually enough to crash servers. Talk about awesome! This is a feat that most people can only dream of, because it is extremely hard to do - but we're not worried about that, because just one digg for a thread is enough to produce decent results.

So how can you help? Start digging threads all around PTF! Follow these steps below:

1. Register with Digg: Registration - Digg
2. Login to Digg: Login to Digg
3. Come to PureTalkForum: PureTalkForum Debate & Discussion Forum
4. Find an interesting thread.
5. Scroll to the bottom of it - not far above the "Quick Reply" box you'll see a list of icons and names under the header "Bookmarks" and Digg is the first one in that list.
6. Click on the Digg icon.
7. Digg will now anaylze the thread and extract information.
8. You'll reach a page to enter a title and a description:

Usually what I ask people to do is make a title so irritating that someone feels compelled to view it. For example, I took this thread: http://www.puretalkforum.com/f67/is-...ngry-4021.html

And turned it into this:

Title: It IS a sin to get angry - you're going to hell...
Description: That's right. We have evidence that proves getting angry is an unforgivable sin for which YOU will go to hell.

The title and description lured a ton of people in. You just have to be creative. Here is another example, a true favorite of mine: http://www.puretalkforum.com/f67/cas...on-t-4487.html (The case for God...what atheists don't want you to see.)

Title: God is REAL. We have discovered SOLID evidence.
Description: Curious about God? Don't be. He's real and we have successfully proven it beyond any form of doubt. In your face, atheists.

Obviously none of that is true - we didn't find solid evidence and nobody proved the existence of god. However, the title works to lure in people who believe, because they can be validated, and the people who do not, because they would like to invalidate whatever proof they suspect we have. Luckily enough, the thread was irritating enough to result in members who felt compelled to post in that topic. 2 thumbs up to AJ and his misrepresentation of scientific fact in order to somehow defend religion! (xD)

The point is that if you make it look interesting enough, people will come, and they will post. That is all we need.

Anyway, back to my steps:
9. Select a category and complete the CAPTCHA.
10. You will most likely be told "We think your story might be a duplicate of one that was submitted by someone else," but in all actuality the suggested duplicates are totally irrelevant.
11. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Totally original, I swear!"
12. Success! Your story has been submitted.

Alright. From what I saw when I checked out your last post about Diggs, it works. I almost clicked some of the related articles. I didn't, though, because I knew it was just a trick.

Absolutely. I wouldn't ask you guys to do it if it didn't work.

Well, I'm signed up, and I Dugg the weird e-mail (adding my vote to what I assume is your original posting of it).
