We're off to a late start for July.

Well, we're really a week and 3 days into the movie period for july. look at the long process I've written up.

I really don't think it should be movies in the theaters. I would think that really, it should be movies on dvd because not only is it cheaper or at least the same price(possibly free if you're like me and just download) but you can watch it a few times without spending more money on it.

And no offense to the suggestions in here, because a lot of people like Harry Potter- though I have no defense for Evan Almighty- I think we should nominate movies that welcome discussion or more "classic" movies. Like, Evan Almighty isn't gonna be known for anything in the future so it's a waste of time to discuss (but by all means, go see it).

When I made the suggestion, I guess I didn't really take into consideration the difference in what we watch, but I do believe that we should always try to suggest a movie that we can actually dissect. I will admit that most comedies aren't that good for it because really there's only one serious interpretation in them because they aren't meant to make you think.

Movies like Fight Club (which is hotly debated everywheres I see it mentioned), V for Vendetta, anything by Harmony Korine and Naked Lunch are fine examples because there are conflicting views and things aren't always clear cut.

I hope I was being clear.

Edit: Oh, as for when we should start, I think we should just nominate and choose a movie and then start discussing it, see how it goes.
Edit again: Movies that have loads of symbolism in them (like, Martin Scorsese is good for that, and you've probably seen one of his movies) are also good picks because, while most of us won't comment on how original camera angles are or technical aspects, we can still comment on the meanings of movies/metaphors/etc.
