Well I pushed for that before and I'll do it again, although I'm not totally against new releases. It depends on what it is.

Agreed. I just saw an ad for a movie with Clooney, Pitt, and Malcovich. I wouldn't mind seeing that even though it's a new release. It's directed by the Cohen brothers too.

I don't have a problem with new releases, as there are tons of good mainstream and indie flicks. It's just that they haven't had a lot of time to sink in. I just don't want mindless action (or really any genre, so long as it's mindless) to win MoTM. I love mindless things, don't get me wrong, the movie club just isn't the place for 'em. Like, we wouldn't discuss Shoot 'Em Up even though that movie was a GREAT time.
