Ok Guys, It's starting a little late... but better late than never. I'm going to try a new tactic and see how this works. Seeing how there is trouble actually picking a good movie that is worthy of discussing, I'm going to post several possible choices and you guys will pick one of them. I tried to come up with movies that are appealing to watch as well. The voting will go for 3 days because of lack of time.

- Saving Private Ryan (1998)

These movies were selected due to their content beneath the plot, so there's things worth discussing. Remember, 3 Days! Voting Ends 3/11.

EDIT: Thanks to Obdurate for aiding me in choosing movies. Me and him went through and made sure each movie is different in their own genre.

Also important to note is that Danger picked movies from a variety of genres but they're all movies that are worth discussing.

So, so far it's 1 for Godfather and 1 for Alien. Yay math.

i'm voting god father... and the reason is... alot of guys have this godfather thing... they do the impressions and whatnot as with scarface... i've actually never seen the movie... so i want to know what that is like and what that is all about... i think the discussion will be awesome.

It's gonna be Godfather and there's definitely nothing wrong with that at all. Widely seen as one of the greatest movies ever. I just want you people who are voting it to know that it's almost 3 hours. That's not a problem for me but just giving a heads up.


I also got some questions I'd like to ask. Anybody have any problems with the way the Movie Club is being run now? I know I'm just repeating some things that Danger said but Danger and I stuck to some simple criteria when coming up with movies. We wanted them to be movies you could dissect as more than just talking about the plot (but by all means, talk about that), and we did, like he said, try to get different genres. We wanted them to be pretty accessible as well. And we weren't sure how willing you guys were to watch movies that were foreign or old so we tried to keep them relatively recent, except for Alien and the Godfather but those two are highly praised movies anyways.

So I guess my next question is... what kind of criteria should we be sticking to?
Would you people watch old old movies? Black and white movies? Foreign? Are you able to find obscure movies?

And sorry for shafting certain genres but we wanted to keep the choices between 4-5 (though we ended up with 6 because we couldn't decide). We'll try to stick a horror/suspense movie in the next one, for example.

So is it better this way that WE nominate the movies and you guys vote? I mean, I like it more but that's cuz, I'll admit it, I get more power this way. But I watch tons of movies so I think I'm a good one to help Danger decide.
