The Shape of Punk to Come is one of the best albums ever made. It retains their usual sound (hardcore punk) but branches out in different directions, including jazz and electronica. Their other albums aren't too shabby as well. Great band that left a real legacy. They also had a perfect last show. Couldn't ask for better cuz it'd be selfish. So, anybody like Refused? Ya listen to any of 'em yet? I know it hasn't been real long but with the net and all, it's pretty easy. The Shape of Punk to Come is a situationist inspired "punk" album. Along with typical punk vices, it uses spoken word, brief interludes and a few different instruments, along with electronics. New Noise is one of the greatest songs ever made and as cheesy as some of the album is, you know the band means every word of it so it's honest. I've been noticing more and more "mainstream" bands are telling people how they're inspired by Refused. Paramore and Panic at the Disco for example. But yet, they sound nothin' like them. ![]() "Don't vote, it only encourages them." Last edited by Obdurate; 08-06-07 at 05:01 PM. |

"The Shape Of Punk To Come", in my opinion, stacks up to a greater caliber than other albums like Nirvana's "Nevermind". They are that good and yes you should go check them out, especially that album.

Yeah, I'd have to say The Shape of Punk to Come is better than Nevermind, but if we were talking about In Utero... oooh, then it'd be a little more difficult for me to decide. It would depend on my mood at the time.
