An attitude of doing what you feel is best, whether or not it really is for the best, I guess. If I had to sum it up lamely in one sentence (which is pretty impossible for anything).

I hate how punk gets labeled as "I don't give a fuck" in the sense of punks not caring about anything when punk is meant to incite social/political change.

So really any band can be punk. But my favourite bands that I'd label as punk are Amen and Refused. For some reason my mind has gone blank and I can't remember most of the bands I listen to, haha, but here are some other good ones... The Clauberg Opera and Crass. Chumbawamba (sp?) are pretty good too. Behind Enemy Lines. International Noise Conspiracy are great.
Most of these bands sound completely different but they all have the same spirit.

Neither Blink 182 or Yellowcard are punk. In fact punk is really a dead genre of music. People and bands claim to be punk, but they most likely aren't. More than likely what many people think is punk is really pop punk or pop-rock. Not to say that music in thos genres is bad, just not "Punk".
