I myself just picked up an "old" iPod 30GB and put rockbox on it. Makes a nice mp3 player. There appears to be a problem with charging though...

Your best bet would check and make sure that you have it connected to a high power usb.

So you finally did that? Let me know if Doom is worth it, although I recall you said it was only 10MB or so.

It's not the charger that's the problem, I think it's rockbox. The battery drains in less than a day and it fully charges in about 10 minutes. So I'm assuming something isn't right.

Doom is pretty fun, impossible to win playing on an ipod though

I could use my PSP as an MP3 player but it's too big to just carry around in your pocket, too easily damaged if you fall over of your side, and people kept asking me if they could play it for a little bit, even though I had no games with me. Therefore, I upgraded to crappy 2 gig MP3 player, and now have an 8 gig iPod, not that I really like iPods that much, but I don't think I'd like rockbox.

yeah I never found a fix to the battery problem. Other than that it was awesome. The bootloader was what screwed up the charging, because it wouldn't charge right in iPod mode either.
