Im a huge fan of classic rock, is anyone else? Many influental and great bands have come out of the 60s, 70s, and 80s (its becoming classic rock now!), what is everyones favorites, if youve never heard any of these bands i strongly suggest you listen to them.

thats my favorites theres a few that i like a song or two from but those are the main ones

Out of that group, it's definitely Queen and Aerosmith. Queen first though. I love that rock band over any others.

Classic rock is driving my ears right now. There are just some songs, musicians, what-have-you, that will always be popular. But it's about more than popularity of course, it's about influence, it's about quality.

Example?

"Free Bird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd and "Hotel California" by the Eagles give me chills. Whether or not they were everyone's favorite songs, any songs that can legitimately do that are going to be around, and listened to, for generations.

Meh. I like classic rock, but don't care enough about the history of rock to worship bands for revolutionizing rock in some infinitesimal way.

One of your tags is acid? Seriously, GA, sometimes I think you believe drugs are cool because you are under the assumption that all great musicians do them.

I don't even like a lot of classic rock, really. It becomes a bit much when people start saying that the music of today is garbage compared to the oldies or whatever because there are original bands out now and bands who took what bands like the Beatles started and made it... better.

Oh no, blasphemy, not blindly worshipping the Beatles. So I'll say this, I like the Beatles but I think that we can stop calling them the best band ever.

And I chose to pick on the Beatles but this applies to other bands as well.
And retro-rock, for the most part, needs to stop.
