Default Best album of all time?

It's been an insane-busy weekend, and I haven't had much time to relax and surf the net lately. It's kind of backwards - weeks are supposed to be fun. Anyway, I've been listening to loads of music to pass the time at work, and lately I've been listening more to albums, just because I'm too lazy to queue up a playlist according to what kind of mood I'm in. So that got me thinking.

What are your favorite albums of all time? The ones you can throw on no matter what kind of mood you're in, and always enjoy them?

I'll go first.

Aenima - Tool
Fight for your Mind - Ben Harper
Guerro - Beck
Reunion (Live) - Black Sabbath
B-Sides & Otherwise - Morphine

The Grind Date - De La Soul
The Art of Storytelling - Slick Rick
A Prince Among Theives - Prince Paul
Train of Thought / Reflection Eternal - Talib Kweli
A Piece of Strange - Cunninlynguists
Distortion - Rev Run

Hmmm...call me crazy, but I don't listen to that much music...

I just listen to whatever is streaming on the net or whatever is on the radio when in the car. I hardly ever use my iPod.

LOL JT's latest album ftw!
Well, personally, i dont have a JT album, so bleh.
I'd have to say Maroon 5's Songs About Jane for me. Every time that "This Love" song would come on, i would know (and lip sync) all the words and stuff.

Volume 3: The Subliminal Verses by Slipknot (they went in a way different direction than people were used to. I hope someday they get the credit they deserve but it's unlikely)
In Utero by Nirvana (raw, angry, sad, etc)
Bath by maudlin of the Well (just a really interesting "metal" album)
We Have Come For Your Parents by Amen (punk/metal hybrid and Casey Chaos means every word)
The Shape of Punk to Come by Refused (probably the most interesting punk album ever, too bad they're gone)

i like in utero and Amen is cool, but slipknow just yells into a microphone with a guitar playing power cords, the only one i think has talent is the drummer

I was hoping eventually somebody would diss Slipknot. Just so I know what I'm dealing with, have you listened to all of their albums?

Slipknot has a lot more going on in their music than that. Especially on Volume 3. I don't need to comment on their drummer because you admitted he has talent.
Their self titled was a nu-metal album but it was a GOOD nu-metal album and the context in which it was released adds to the effect.
Iowa was just a really good metal album. Corey's lyrics improved drastically, as well.
Volume 3 isn't a metal album. It has metal songs though. But it's diverse because you have songs like Circle, Prelude 3.0, Danger- Keep Away (get the full version), Vermillion Pts 1 and 2, which by the way have little to no screaming.
Let's not even forget Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat which had heavy funk influence as well.

My point is, there's more going on in Slipknot songs than people give them credit for. You can't have that many members with different likes and dislikes and not have that diversity.

I think it's retarded how once a band plays metal they are expected to come out with Dream Theater complicated riffs and solos to be any good.

So we'll leave it at that until you reply again.
