We try to stay very open at PTF, but it is necessary to set a few rules. If you have any questions on what is and what is not acceptable, please feel free to send a private message to any of the PTF staff, including me.

1. Staff decisions are final. Ultimately, the staff has complete discretion over what is and is not acceptable on the site.

2. Public discussions of staff decisions are not permitted on the site. If you have any concerns or queries relating to a staff decision, please take it up in private with a member of the site administration team.

3. All members must be treated in a respectful and adult manner. All members should respect and adhere to the promotion of harmony within the community. Do not attempt to disrupt the community in any way.

4. No "Flaming". Please do not post any messages that harass, insult, belittle, threaten or flame another member or guest.

5. No "Trolling". Please do not post any topic that disrupts the peace and harmony of this board. Don't create meaningless threads with the sole purpose of starting a dispute. This includes messages in profiles and signatures.

6. No "Spamming". Please do not double post or cross-post the same message in multiple forums. You will not mass-PM or mass-email multiple members of this site with the same message. You will not post for the sake of increasing your post count.

7. No "Bumping" (Your threads/posts): Please do not repeatedly bump your threads to try and get attention. Members of the site are not online 24 hours a day and so will not see your post the instant it is made. Do not bump a thread within 48 hours, and not more than once a week.

8. No "Bumping" (Other’s threads/posts): Before replying to a thread, take notice of the last post date. Try and avoid replying to posts more than 3 months old. If you have a similar question and cannot find the answer, create your own thread.

9. No Offensive Material: Please do not post messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, and/or otherwise violate of any local or international laws. This includes links in your signature, profile, posted images, photos and avatars. Staff will ultimately decide if something is appropriate or not.

Please note that this is a PG-13 rated site and therefore is meant to suitable for all ages, including those under 13 with parental guidance/permission.

10. No spreading of any copyrighted material is to take place on this site without the expressed permission of the copyright holder, which must be attached to the material.

11. No Buying, Selling, or Trading: This site is not a market place.

12. No posting messages anywhere on this site that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, forums, email address, business, MLM, activity, or other entities that you have an affiliation with (ie. no self-promotion).

13. PureTalkForum.com nor the staff of PureTalkForum.com is responsible for the content posted within. If you suspect a post is disobeying the rules, is inappropriate, or is illegal in nature, please report it to a moderator of that sub-forum or one of the site administrators and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.

14. Multiple usernames are not permitted. Only one username per person! If for some reason you need to make an additional username, please contact the administration to get permission first.

15. For signatures: No more than 5 lines of text, with a font size no larger than 3, and two images only that are no larger than 300 pixels in hight COMBINED and 600 pixels in width each. Members may have up to three external links in their signature as long as they are not adult oriented, illegal in nature, or direct competition to PTF.

16. All posts must be made in the English language unless a clear translation is also provided.

Failing to comply with any of the above rules will result in a ban, either temporary or permanent. Depending on the offense, a warning may or may not be issued first.

If someone is less knowledgeable than you on a subject, do not insult them. Help them learn more about the subject - educate them!

Talking down to other members, or insulting them because you know more about something than they do is not accepted and will not be tolerated. We believe in education!

There may be ways to exploit the software used on PureTalkForum.com - any attempts to alter, hack, exploit, damage, or otherwise obtain unauthorized access or make the software act in a way contradictory to the nature of PureTalkForum.com is prohibited and illegal - violators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Please run a search before posting a new thread! Duplicate threads will be deleted.

I reserve the right to edit and interpret these rules as I see fit. This will prevent members from using this document against itself.
