Actually, I know Computerdude does watch wrestling and he posts about it elsewhere.

I like wrestling. It's one of the only things I watch on TV (along with South Park, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brian). But I only watch WWE and even then I only watch Raw. The new ECW can **** off, TNA is kind of lame but could be improved with more airtime.

Finally, somebody else that watches wrestling, lol. Are you going to watch Wrestlemania 23 this Sunday? I'll watch it, even though I think it's going to be one of the worst Wrestlemania's in quite a while. i just hope John Cena loses the belt on Sunday. I don't like that guy. He can't wrestle. His signature moves are extremely basic and do not come off as credible finishers.

Nope, I haven't even seen a PPV in years. The whole thing between Shawn Michaels and Cena was stupid though, IS HE GONNA TURN ON HIM? It's wrestling, everybody turns on everybody so if Shawn did... who cares??? But I understand since HHH hurt himself they had to pick up some slack, because he was the interesting DX member anyway.

It's really nice to see Austin back though, even in a small role. The last Raw was the first time I've seen him in a while and I smiled when he came out. Is he not wrestling because doctors say he can't or is he not wrestling because he wants to be a movie star?

I'm pretty sure Austin isn't wrestling anymore because doctor's told him not to, or his injuries are too bad that he can't.

As for the Shawn and Cena thing, I agree, it was stupid. They kept pushing "Do You Got My Back?" for far too long. That should have ended weeks ago, but nope. I also think it's stupid that they have the tag team belts, when those could have been defended at Wrestlemania.

Default Professional Wrestling

Johnnymovgamer (I think) made a thread in Hobbies & Interests about wrestling that died in March. I want to revive it.

My story -
I started watching wrestling at 8 with my grandfather (he had been watching since the days of Buddy Rogers, Lou Thesz, George Hackenschmidt and Harley Race in the early-mid 20th century). We would sit down every Saturday and watch Superstars and The All-American Wrestling Show. This was of course before RAW debuted. We didn't start getting RAW on our TV until it moved onto TSN.

My thoughts on wrestling present -
Knowing what I do about the industry, I understand why people tend to dislike it. It basically is a soap opera for guys. The characters are overblown, the action is "fake", and the stories are often absurd and lofty.

Why I like it -
Precisely that. I'm entertained by the absurd and the lofty. Wrestling storylines are just camp, man. And the reason I put "fake" in quotation marks above is because of the simple fact that wrestling is not fake. Wrestling is scripted, there's a difference.

So, please feel free to discuss pro wrestling as a whole -- what you like, what you don't, favorite wrestlers, favorite defining moments... whatever you feel!

What is ironic about this?

I don't want to turn this into a discussion about what happened over the weekend. In general.
