I haven't been reading much lately, except I finished the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series, which I had to read for *ugh* school.

I am reading my Biology Book. I have already learned so much from this class. We are learning about atoms and molecules and cells and how they function in plants and animals and all kinds of interesting things.

I'm in a biology class, too. I can't say I like it. It is interesting learning about all these molecules and cells, but then there's all the vocabulary that goes along with that. I just had the MCAS (standardized test that is apparently very important) in it, and I needed to remember all sorts of stuff like the structure of a cell membrane or the difference between...hell, I can't even remember the words now.

And all that stuff about the human body, like how the kidneys work and their structure...

Edit: I also just finished the latest Dean Koontz book, Odd Hours, and I'm going to try to get back into Alexandre Dumas.

Yes there are quite a few definitions and specific functions to learn. I have found I remember them better and learn more if I write a short report on a particular subject in the chapter, that I am trying to understand. It also helps me to review with other people or with someone asking me questions. I got the highest grade in the class on the exam.

But anyways, I just started reading this book its called, "George's Secret Key to the Universe" by Lucy and Stephen Hawking. So far, I like it. Its about George and his pig.

Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. Don't read much fantasy books but this one's got me hooked.

Too bad he's dead eh? Sucks for fans of the series. I haven't read any though.

I'm reading The Athenian Murders by Jose Carlos Somoza. Good stuff so far.

Too bad indeed. Trouble with reading long novels spanning various books. Same with Stephen King's Dark Tower series. I don't believe that's ended yet or has it?

Yeah, Dark Tower ended but a lot of people aren't happy with how it ended. King got scared after his accident so he just kind of rushed it. I haven't read them either but I definitely want to read 'em. I almost bought the first one a few times but it'll have to wait until I can dedicate time to them.

I have Wheel of Time but I haven't gotten around to it, yet. The cover and the reviews gave me the impression that Robert Jordan took Tolkien's Middle Earth and wrote about it some more. The reviews on the back are like "Jordan reveals the world that Tolkien only began to reveal," and makes other references to the Lord of the Rings too.

Anyway, I'm reading Jules Verne's Around the World in 80 Days. The writing style really puts Dumas in mind. They're from the same country and time period, so I wonder if that was just the style of the time in France. The book's good, though.
