Like you're supposed to? Isn't it fun to break conventions? ****, when I write the only rules that exist are the rules I want.

Edit: Oh yeah, Ich_Bin_Butler... you should write more serious stories, for sure. And post them so I have something to talk about because I feel like discussing writing/books.
And don't use semi-colons, they're a waste of time and add nothing to society. Instead of ; use :

Well, when I read, I expect little grammatical errors, excellent usage of words and adjectives, and the BASICS of writing: the separation into new paragraphs with the changing speakers. Since he already identified the problem about indenting, I have no problem, but it does not only make it easier to read when separated, it also has the professional look worthy of a serious and critical review. After all, a truthful and helpful review always beats a review that says "Good job, write more."

I have at least two books that don't seperate into a new paragraph when different people speak and they still work really well. A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers and I think Everything Is Iluminated by Jonathan Foer. I could be mixing books up but my point remains...

Saying you expect excellent usage of words is kind of obvious since if you can't write you don't have a good book. However, format is a different story.

I take it you don't read- for lack of a better word- experimental fiction?

I would like to make it a point that I DID indent on the MS Word version. In fact, I always indent when the speaker changes. Hell, in Schizophrenia, I indented the thoughts inside the man's head more than the rest of the paragraphs. However, if you'll observe, forum posts don't let you use indents. therefore, when I copied and pasted, the indents were gone.

Maybe you could just do a double return? That would be just as good.

Ok, Obdurate, A Million Little Pieces, a book that was in Oprah's book club, didnt have changing speaker. Meaning it was hard to read, meaning i wouldn't review it.

Ich Bin, I stated i already knew that indents wont work, but if you press the Enter button a

couple

times

it

does

work.

Ok, you wouldn't review it. Fair enough, but there's other people out there who like when people try different things or CHALLENGE the reader (because let's face it, we aren't provoked nearly enough, in any way), so while I respect the fact you won't touch that kinda ****, it doesn't take away from the credibility of the books that don't do what you want.

To be honest, I won't even touch most books in ****ing Oprah's book club. With that said, there are a couple books that I want to read that happen to be in there, though.

Well, that's why I asked/told Ich Bin to make paragraphs with each separate speakers so I do review it like he wanted me to.

I don't read books from Oprah's Book Club either, and I doubt she personally reads them, someone as famous and busy as her probably doesnt have time. I know there are great books out there that are off-canon, but I prefer those that are, as they are more common and easier to read.

Ich Bin, will you be separating your stories into paragraphs soon?
