I haven't tried reading Lord of the Rings since Grade... 2. It bored the shit out of me then but that was so many years ago so I should really try again.
I have Rainbow Six on my shelf but haven't read that either.
So, over the past week I've recently read a book called
Watchmen by comic God Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. I can't believe it took me this long to read it. I can't get it out of my head (which is very very rare for a book) and I actually feel like reading it again even though I just finished it (also very rare).
It's about costumed adventurers (or masks) who are superheroes without the powers (minus 1 or 2 of them, one of which is a diety). They struggle with every day struggles and their past and the future, and it takes place in an alternate history of the Cold War. It explores many different themes, like comic book history and the role of authority. The latter of which is best summed up with this quote:
Who watches the Watchmen?
I ****ing love this book.
