Default Shadowrun

I hope I didn't already create this thread. That's just be sad...I'm not checking, though. Anyway, I'm talking about the old SNES game, not the new online crap that no one who played the original likes. I'd actually like to see the world of Shadowrun expanded into a new game or remake that actually followed a story. It's one of my favorite SNES games besides Zelda: A Link to the Past. Has anyone else played it?

Yes! And I haven't played the new one.

I heard the old one is better for genesis but I haven't had a chance to play it. I have put some hours into it for SNES, though I've never beaten it. I like cyberpunk-anything and I liked the battle system in that. I liked the atmosphere and I liked talking dogs in sketchy dark corners. Plus the way they talked. Butler, you better be careful or you'll get geeked.

Yes! All their crazy lingo: For instance, several people call you a bowb, a drekhead, or just plain drek.

The game scares me a lot for some reason. I love how you awake from the dead at the beginning and those people just scream and run into another room and you get up lookin' all cool with your shades and your trench coat.

What a sweet game. I wish I still had my SNES. I own it. I could play it on an emulator I guess... might have to soon..

The problem is, if you waste money buying guns willy nilly rather than waiting for the best to emerge, you have no money and end up walking back and forth killing people for cash. There's no shortage of gang members, either. They don't run out. I'd really like to see a lengthened, maybe more open version remade for a newer console that actually has a story to it. That was the game's strong point. There's a good story behind it as you run around geeking hitmen and hiring assassins to follow you around.

I was almost to the end and my system erased my files. I can't leave it alone for too long. I'm rebuilding the file, but it's a little frustrating.

Well I beat it yesterday. Cool ending before and after the credits, but I do wish the game was longer. The ending parts weren't even that epic.

And if you are stuck you should look at an online guide/FAQ. Those things saved my ass more than once (twice, in fact) playing the game.
